The ‘Beautifying the Villages’ volunteers, working on the EDaN projects, have put a lot of time and effort into improving the villages within the Parish of Edlesborough and wish to continue doing so.
However, their efforts are marred by the ongoing negligence of certain dog owners who continue to allow their dogs to foul on the Green and pavements without having the courtesy of collecting the mess that has been made and putting it into the numerous dog bins that are situated on the Green and around the villages for this purpose.
It is becoming increasingly difficult to walk across the Green and along the pavements due to uncleared faeces. Parishioners and responsible dog owners are continuously complaining about this problem and Thames Valley Police are currently running a campaign reminding all dog owners, who are in breach of the Dogs (Fouling of Land) Act 1996, that it is an offence to allow a dog to foul on public land and failure to remove the faeces resulting in a maximum fine of £1,000.00 or a fixed penalty fine of £50.00.
Any dog owner who is seen to be allowing their dog to foul and not clearing up the faeces up will immediately be reported to the Police.
