There is also a request from Edlesborough Parish Council for lower limit to be implemented.

From a Point just N of Grove Farm PYO,to the Exsisting 30mph Limit at Ivinghoe. The length of this limit would be 839metres. Consideration also be given to relocating the Village Name Plate further out to a Point just N of Grove Farm to link up with Commencement of New Proposed Speed Limit.

Westfield Road has a Section of 30mph Limit (There are one set of large repeater signs between the lamposts (Terminal Sign Size)) and the remainder to the B488 is NSL.

On the C76 there are a couple of car parks for people using Grand Union Canal. The Bridge over the canal is controlled by a system of traffic lights, there are a number of Residential Dwellings, and a Public House situated along this short section of C76. In Cheddington Road there are a number of Residential Properties on the N side of the road which is currently NSL. There is a request from Pitstone Parish Council for a Lower Limit along the C76 at Cooks Wharf, and for it to be extended along Cheddington Road. Cheddington Road PIAs= 1 Serious.

There were Three Traffic Surveys carried out along this Section of Road in July 2008.

The First was located 100metres SW Upper Wingbury Farm, the result of these findings were:

The 85%ile was SW 49.4mph & 49.9mph, the Mean Speed was SW 42.7mph & NE 43.4mph, the Average Traffic Flow over 12 Hours on a weekday was 1,815.

The Second location was 170metres NE of Upper Wingbury Farm. The results were:

The 85%ile was NE 62.5mph & SW 60.9mph, the Mean Speed was NE 54.1mph & SW 52.9mph, the Average Traffic Flow over 12 Hours on a weekday was 1,820.

The Third location was 330metres SW Mentmore Crossroads. The result of these findings were:

The 85%ile was NE 54.6mph & SW 52.5mph, the Mean Speed was NE 47.6mph & SW 45.8mph, the Average Traffic Flow over 12 Hours on a weekday was 1,828.

There were Traffic Surveys carried out on the Link Roads from the A418 to Hulcott Village in October 2005.

On the Southern Link Road: The 85%ile was 40.3NE & 39.7SW, the Mean Speed was 34.3NE & 33.1SW. The Average Traffic flow over 12 hours on a weekday was 198.

On the Northern Link Road: The 85%ile was 34.9E and 33.4W, the Mean Speed was 25.0E & 24.0W. the Average Traffic flow over 12 hours on a weekday was 59

C78 Burcott Lane / Broughton Lane between Burcott & j/w A41.

The Area Known as Broughton Crossing be reduced to 30mph. The Speed Limit Signs to Link in with Village Signs However these are only 176 Metres apart.( These would need to be extended by a combined distance of 124 Metres so that a minimum distance of 300 metres is met). The Area known as Broughton, the Limit to Commence just S of Mill Cottage(Village Sign) to a Point just N of Canal Bridge, so that it includes the Canal Bridge and Car Park. The other Short linking Sections between these Areas be Reduced to a 40mph Limit. Up to the start of the Exsisting 30mph Limit, Burcott Lane, Bierton.( This limit to have a short extension of 100 metres so that the Village Gates and Speed Limit Signs are linked) To also include the short length of Stocklake as 40mph.

The Speed Limit Burcott Lane to be extended by 100 metres so that it links in with Village Gates. The Area Known as Broughton Crossing be Reduced to 30mph. There are 16 Residential Properties along this secton of Road with a Public House. There are no footpaths.There are also letters from Bierton with Broughton Parish Council, and Local Residents, Expressing Concerns over Speed. The area known as Broughton also be reduced to 30mph. There are 22 Residential Properties on both sides of the Road. Again there are no Footpaths. There is a Car Park for People using the Canal, and a Hump Back Bridge over the Canal. In the Area known as Broughton, up to and including the Canal Bridge.

PIAs 1 Serious 7 Slight. Most of these occurring at the Canal Bridge. On the other Sections of Broughton Lane, the only other Collisions are between Broughton Crossing and Bierton, these being on a sharp bend.

PIAs 4 Slight.

There is also a Request from Local Parish Council for Lower Speed Limit to be Considered.

The Second location was of Broughton Lane 25metres N Oak Farm. The results were:

The 85%ile was N 43.4mph & S 39.2mph, the Mean Speed was N 37.5mph & S 33.8mph, the Average Traffic Flow over 12 Hours on a weekday was 4,731.

The Third location was Broughton Lane 75metres SE Canal. The result of these findings were:

The 85%ile was S 36.6mph & N 37.2mph, the Mean Speed was S 32.4mph & N 32.0mph, the Average Traffic Flow over 12 Hours on a weekday was 4,708.

The Fourth location was Broughton Lane 80metres SE Stocklake. The result of these findings were:

The 85%ile was SE 40.1mph & NW 40.2mph, the Mean Speed was SE 35.1mph & NW 35.2mph, the Average Traffic Flow over 12 Hours on a weekday was 5,278.

The Fifth Location was Broughton Crossing outside Public House. The result of these findings were:

The 85%ile was S33.0mph & N 32.9mph, the Mean Speed was S 28.4mph & 27.9mph, the Average Traffic Flow over 12 Hours on a weekday was 4,017.

The Sixth location was Broughton Lane Near The Dairy. The result of these findings were:

The 85%ile was SW 45.5mph & NE 44.4mph, the Mean Speed was SW 39.8mph & NE 38.6mph, the Average Traffic Flow over 12 Hours on a weekday was 3,930.

This is a short Section of narrow Country Road, which has Access to a Field which is used by Travelling Fair Grounds. There are PIAs 2 Slight along this section of Stocklake, one of these being Pedestrian visiting the Fair and was Struck by Vehicle.
