On Saturday 20th February we held a ‘Have your Say’ meeting at the Memorial Hall in Pitstone. Although this was advertised in all the parish boards, the shop, the LBO and the village magazine unfortunately the attendance was disappointing. On a positive note, those who came expressed their satisfaction with the low crime rate in Pitstone. If you were unable to attend this meeting but have an issue you wish to discuss with us do contact us via 08458 505505 or email us at WingSouthNHPT@thamesvalley.pnn.police.uk
The Wingrave beavers were visited on 22nd February by PCSOs Chris Baker and Jackie Dodson. Like their older counterparts, the Cubs, who were visited in January, the beavers spent the evening learning about road safety.
We have recently had a drive to recruit more residents to join neighbourhood watch. Information was hand delivered to all households in Slapton and Ivinghoe Aston. These two villages at the moment do not have any active neighbourhood watch. The response has been pleasing and we hope to have some schemes up and running soon.
PCSOs Chris Baker and Jackie Dodson have visited Edlesborough, Cheddington, Wingrave and Brookmead Schools to talk to teachers about the CoP card scheme. This starts on March 22nd for all year 6 pupils in our area. This is a police and community scheme that is running in all Buckinghamshire schools and involves pupils being involved in community activities. Each child will have to collect stickers to place on their cards. Stickers are awarded for completing tasks, challenges or attending events.

Thames Valley Police and Aylesbury Vale District Council are asking residents to spare a thought for home security when they head out into their gardens this spring.
The value of property stored in outbuildings is often much more than people realise and what is valuable to you will also be valuable to a thief.
Defensive planting provides an additional security measure for your home and can be very successful as gardens are often the first line of defence against crime.
Prickly bushes can enhance the security of boundaries, around drainpipes or beneath ground floor windows, making forced entry more difficult and less attractive to would be burglars as well as being a simple, inexpensive and environmentally friendly crime prevention tool.
For more information, please drop into one of the following garden centres across Aylesbury Vale, where you can pick up a defensive planting leaflet or speak to a member of staff.
- Buckingham Nurseries and Garden Centre, Tingewick Road, Buckingham, MK18 4AE
- Haddenham Garden Centre, Stanbridge Road, Haddenham, Bucks, HP17 8HN
- Tring Garden Centre (Wyevale), Bulbourne Road, Tring, HP23 5HF
- Worlds End Garden Centre (Wyevale), Aylesbury Road, Wendover, Aylesbury, HP22 6BD

Anti Social behaviour
In Wingrave we have had one report this month of young people knocking on a front door and running away. We have also had a report of a lump of concrete being throw into a back garden and the offenders laughing and running away. On both occasions the culprits were not actually seen. If this or something similar happens to you please let us know and if possible give us a description of the offenders.
Pitstone Business Park has been used at weekends by owners of remote model cars. The noise from these cars is a nuisance for residents of Castlemead. We have also had a report of one young driver using the business park to drive up and down and do hand break turns. Patrols in this area have now increased. If you witness either of these events please ring 08458 505505 and if possible take down vehicle registration numbers.
