Neighbourhood Action Group (NAG) information
The NAG as an entity is currently in a period of transition as we look to localise the issues to each village and work with more local residents and public bodies in partnership. We have received positive feedback so far as we roll this out. More information will be published next month as we finalise the how this will work in practice. We are looking forward to working in each village more closely with the Parish Council and local residents to tackle issues that are important to you.
The Wing South neighbourhood team is currently working on one main priority identified by the NAG of speeding. We are continuing with speed enforcement operations working in conjunction with the Roads Policing Department. We are pleased to see that the Speed Limit Review has also identified possible reduction in speed limits across the Wing South area.
Over the coming months we look forward to identifying more priorities that we can work together in solving.

Crime statistics
From February – April 2010 we had an increase of five crimes compared to the same period last year which is an overall increase of 4.8%. Anti-social behaviour is down by 52% and burglary and theft from vehicle crime has seen a small increase. For more information visit
http://maps.police.uk/ - This website provides you with information on crime and anti-social behaviour in your neighbourhood. It also enables you to access and compare the latest information on a range of crime types with other neighbourhoods.Anti-social behaviour
This month there has been two instances of children riding Go-Karts on the roads. This happened in Slapton and around Pitstone Green Business Park. Not only is it illegal to ride these, petrol driven Go-Karts on the road but they are a noise nuisance to local residents.
Several young people visiting Startops reservoir decided to play a game of football in the car park. This was without a thought for the parked cars or the consequences for themselves if vehicles were damaged albeit accidentally.
Once again, road signs in Wingrave were placed across the road late one evening and several young people in Pitstone thought it would be fun to run along the roofs of garages. What starts as fun ‘antics’ can very easily result in a nasty accident and we would remind all young people to think about the consequences of their actions.
Cow Lane Allotment holders in Edlesborough have had sheds opened and things moved around and children have been seen running through the area.
Up and coming events
On Sunday 6 June as part of the Marsworth boat weekend we will be having a crime prevention stall. Do come along if you have any questions about making your home or boat secure or you need advice about marking your property.
We will be holding a ‘Have your Say’ meeting on Saturday 19 June from 2pm and 4pm at the Ivinghoe fete on Ivinghoe Lawns. All residents across the Wing South area are invited to come and "Have their Say" and speak to their local policing team. We would particularly like to see local residents from Ivinghoe, Ivinghoe Aston and Pitstone so that they can inform us of any issues that are concerning them at this time.
These meetings are an ideal opportunity for local residents to speak to their local police officer and PCSOs about any local issues. No appointment is necessary, just turn up and speak to your local officers. Further meetings will be publicised locally and on the force website at
www.thamesvalley.police.uk.
