Edlesborough Memorial Hall

Manager & Clerk’s Report

Under 5’s are to be invoiced for additional hiring of hall for meetings. Under 5’s have requested permission to install a shed at the rear of the Hall, the Committee have consented to this request provided Under 5’s make their own insurance arrangements. Various miscellaneous works carried out including inspection of boilers and strengthening kitchen cupboard.

Decided to wait until next increase arises before taking further action.

Fire Risk Assessment

Clerk to speak to Manager regarding fire risk assessment

OVERALL REVIEW OF CHARGES FOR MEMORIAL HALL, PAVILION, GREEN, CEMETERY AND ALLOTMENTS

Memorial Hall: Increase of 50p per hour for Regular Users from £6.50 to £7.00 from lst September 2008

The Green: No increase for Tennis or Cricket Club bi-annual payments (refer to The Green Agenda item

regarding EB Lions

The Pavilion: Pavilion cleans to be reviewed next year

Cemetery: 10% increase overall from 1st February 2009

Allotments: To rise by a further 10p from October 2009 (tenants to be notified in October 2008)

Insurance

Quotations were discussed and Committee opted for the Norwich Union policy but Clerk to clarify if premiums would rise should the 3 year commitment be taken up.

Edlesborough Green (including play equipment, car parks, Sports activities etc.)

Clerk’s Report

A request had been received for St. Mary’s Church to hold a picnic on The Green on Sunday 10th August and to have access to the Pavilion toilets. Committee agreed and would also allow access to Memorial Hall toilets if a cricket match was being played.

Permission was also agreed to allow 94FC to hold their annual Charity Match on Sunday 14th June at 11.am

Clerk to enquire as to why Reyven are not cutting as much of the grass around the perimeter making it expensive to strim this area.

Edlesborough Green Pavilion

Clerk’s Report

EB Lions have requested a permanent key to the Pavilion. The General Purposes Committee discussed this request along with the review of charges and it was agreed to approach EB Lions with a view of incorporating their pitch fees and fees for access to the Pavilion on a bi-annual payment method. Clerk to write to EB Lions.

Best Kept Village Competition

It has been agreed not to go ahead this year due to the short notice in letting parishioners know about it. Judging takes place from May to July. Parishioners will be notified much earlier in 2009 and informed by the Parish Council at the Dagnall Fete and St. Mary’s Carnival

Tennis Club Lease

A final meeting is due to take place between the Parish Council and the Tennis Club prior to agreeing the new lease.

Clerk’s Report

3 allotments let at Cow Lane and an exchange of half a plot at The Green. The proposed footpath across Dagnall allotments is due to be carried out week commencing 12th May.

Edlesborough, Dagnall & Northall Street Lighting

Contractor has now repaired most of the faulty lights, remainder to be attended to as soon as parts are available. 3 further lights reported faulty.

Highways/by-ways/footpaths

Bucks CC in the process of installing ‘dropped kerbs’ from Kingsmead to the High Street shops.

AVDC & BCC responsibilities

Clerk has reported blocked drains through Northall and continuing problems with non-drainage of water at the junction of Eaton Bray Road, Northall and the A4146 together with further ditch clearance required opposite The Swan, Northall. Clerk to contact Bucks CC Environment department regarding the siting of rats.
