Allotments

Edlesborough Parish Council is a keen supporter of allotments and is responsible for four areas:        

All the allotments have a water supply.

The sizes of the allotments vary from a nominal 126.50 m²  (5 poles) to a nominal 430.10 m² (17 poles)

Allotment Rents:

        October 2010 to September 2011:         90p for 25.30 m2 per year (90p per pole per year)

        October 2011 to September 2012:     £1.10 for 25.30 m2 per year (£1.10 per pole per year)

        October 2012 to September 2013:     £1.30 for 25.30 m2 per year (£1.30 per pole per year)

The most significant costs for operating the allotments are for water and cutting the hedges around each allotment.  The Council gave notice to all Allotment Holders in 2009 that rental costs would be increased over a transitional period of 3 - 4 years to achieve the Council's policy for total rental income from all 4 allotments to cover the total cost of operating all 4 allotments.
