1 Minutes of the last meeting
Agreed
2 Open action items from last meeting.
Covered in agenda
3 Review of Carnival participation
Feedback was useful- some people were aware of EDaN, but hadn’t been to any open days. Displays provoked interest, however there was some belief expressed that EDaN is under the direct control of the parish council. More display space would have been helpful.
Participation in 2008? The view is yes with a bigger plot, but no confirmation will be needed until April/May next year.
Thank you to Robert Tigg for organising the event and paying for the pitch for us. (Putting game raised £23)
4 Questionnaire sub-group review
The questionnaire has been revised to take into account the comments received from steering group members. The draft has been tested, and the sub group meet next week to finalise the wording. A copy will go to all steering group members, for information. Fine tuning with regards to layout will be done professionally. Then it will be deemed ready to print.
Printing quote of £100 from Priory Print in Dunstable, (who print Focus). As long as we advertise them on it, based on 8 A4 sides x 1200 copies on coloured paper. The meeting agreed to accept the quote.
5 Questionnaire implementation
In order to achieve a high return rate (50% would be excellent), there needs to be a well coordinated distribution scheme – door to door, logging them out and back again.
We will enter a collection date on each copy as it is delivered. We will record delivery and collection – based on a parish list. – need to source one – Alan will contact John Plater who is the Focus circulation manager.
ACTION AW
There will be an optional personal details tear off slip on back of questionnaire. Offer a prize draw for completed questionnaire - £50 worth of M&S vouchers was agreed, ACTION KB
We must agree routes for collection, badges for everyone, crib sheets etc and it was agreed that each village need to coordinate for their own residents. The target should be that no-one has to collect from more than 50 households.
For September 3rd meeting each member of the Steering group will come with the name of an additional helper – we need at least 25 volunteers to distribute and collect completed questionnaires. ACTION ALL
6 Finance
Kathy is on holiday. An updated sheet has been circulated prior to the meeting. The project estimates were reviewed. Need to add analysis of questionnaire feedback, cost of professionalising the layout. There are no meeting expenses, but we will need a line for the £50 prize. EB, JW, KC will all try and find out about data analysis packages from various sources.
ACTION EB,JW,KC
RT will try to get the donations to the schools for all the help for the open days etc., from The Villagers.

7 Timetable for Plan completion
Alan showed a draft time plan, based on a BCA framework. Comments included the need to give a week between delivery and collection. The length of time needed to analyse will depend on method used and number of returns. We are likely to need 8 weeks to distribute, collect and analyse the data before presenting to steering group. Reporting to the parish council will follow this. The Parish Council has suggested holding a special meeting to review the feedback. ACTION AW

Press/publicity
KC has put Focus reports in for the EDaN project team so far, it was agreed to continue to publicise what we are doing, by use of Focus.
Web Site –Do we need one?
No, was the eventual decision.
Archive project
Malcolm’s suggestion to capture and archive the information and photographs available from parishioner’s personal archives was discussed. This would be a project that we could sponsor going forward as one of the projects that we will seek volunteers from parishioners to take ownership.
