Still looking for a fundraiser

Insurance – volunteers are covered

Avril Davis info re waste/recycling was circulated by email.

Reports from the project teams, including funding initiatives taken

Transportation – Kathy Bovington

No one prepared to be leader or to clerk at the moment.

No Northall person on the group.

Some contacts have been established with outside agencies.

Main difficulty is finding out what services are available, from each of the different transport companies. BCA not optimistic about ability to influence bus companies. Youth Bus available on an as need basis.

Youth – Vicky Lee

Open meetings have been completed, the results are being collated, and a review meeting to be held next week, to discuss the next steps.

Beautification – sent by Christine Yates

Floodlighting of Edlesborough Church est £4000 for equipment etc. P Dwyer – will maintain at no charge (parts only). To include phone mast (rental income?) (Churches Conservation Trust must be consulted to see if they would agree to the income covering the running costs).

Hedge and verge cutting to be reviewed with the PC.

Litter pickers wanted – apply here!

Planters –Ok with AVDC – at the village entrance signs

Dagnall roundabout will need to be done by a council approved contractor.

Community Service labour can be organised for bulb planting.

Monies have been applied for from Community chest.

Village signs are being planned.

Pharmacy litter has been resolved.

Local businesses are to be asked for sponsorship for the planters.

Need to seek professional help to make the church floodlighting do the job effectively. ACTION CY

Post Office – Jim Wright

Refurbishment is underway to install a second counter, and widen the door/entranceway.

The PO will be doing vehicle licensing after closure of Eaton Bray on 23^rd October.

Bus shelters needed for people coming down from Eaton Bray ACTION KB

Traffic Management/Speed Team - Alan Williams

First meeting to be held next week

Richard and Elizabeths’ groups are still to get underway.

Common to all groups is the issue of communication.

Still need to look at viability of setting up a website for EDaN project.

Discussion of project funding using Parish Council allocation

The Parish Council would like to know how we would like to allocate our funds over the next 6 months:

£5000 has been allocated to EDaN projects – the steering group to decide how money is allocated.

Repay £1000 back from cost of printing EDaN Plan, so assume £4000 to spend by April 2009. Need to find out if monies can be carried forward. Alan will ask the Parish Council. ACTION AW

Proposed to get planters done first (£2750) – this will have impact in all three villages, and then put balance of funding towards church floodlighting.

Sponsorship of the planters may meet some or all of the cost.

Funding for projects for next financial year, April 2009-10:

Request a further allocation of at least £5000 for next year. ACTION AW

Setting up a Bank account for EDaN

The co-op bank have a community section in their bank, and we could open an account with them. AW will check with the parish council if we can open a bank account. ACTION AW

Keep Lin Sargeant informed of any funding applications.

Road Safety to go in with Traffic management and speed limits

Some other projects should be deferred for a period of time and a piece put in Focus to inform people which ones they are. ACTION AW

Village Design Statement – is a topic that Jim may take on. ACTION JW

VDS needs to include parish council reps.

EDaN dinner arrangements

Dinner on 23^rd October, 7.30 – 8.00pm. The Swan in Northall.

Dates of next meetings

Proposed to make meetings every 2 months, so we will meet on Tuesday 18^th November, Dagnall Church Hall, at 7.45pm. (Karen Coppen in the chair as AW will be on holiday).

No December meeting, next one will be in January 2009. Poss 3^rd Tuesday in the month.
