(Article for May ’07 ‘Focus’)

‘Edlesborough, Northall and Dagnall’ – a plan for the future.

You may have read previously in Focus about ‘The Parish Plan’, well this sounded a rather mundane name for such an interesting and exciting project. So welcome to ‘The EDaN Project’.

This is your chance to have a voice and influence what happens in our villages in the future.

Would you like to comment on or have a look at what others are saying about:-

Housing – Is there enough? Should there be more building allowed in our villages? Do we have the right mix of housing i.e. enough large houses, enough starter homes, affordable housing, bungalows?

Schools – Are our schools well subscribed, over subscribed? Do they have the correct facilities for our children?

Traffic – Do our villages have adequate traffic calming? Are there any particular areas that you consider dangerous?

Bridleways/Footpaths – Can you access local bridleway/footpath networks? Can access be improved?

Public Transport – Can you catch a bus to where you want to go?

Business – Do we need more employment opportunities in our villages? What type of employment do we need? Do you have access to a local shop/post office? Are our existing village businesses thriving?

Community Facilities and Youth – Are there enough activities for our youth in the villages? Is the play equipment up to date/modern enough? What else would our youngsters enjoy? Are our Village Halls fit for their purpose?

Plus many other issues!

Come and visit any of the open days, or if you can’t make the dates below why not ask us to visit your group. Our open days are set to be extremely interesting events, with sections on local history, photos from our competition entries, displays and comments on the above issues. Refreshments will be served and there will be plenty to occupy children, so come and join us.

DAGNALL – Saturday 19th May 10.00a.m. to 2.00p.m. and Tuesday 22nd May 7.30p.m. to 9.30p.m. at Dagnall Village Hall.

NORTHALL – Saturday 9th June, 2007 12.00a.m. to 4.00p.m. at The Swan, Northall.

EDLESBOROUGH – Saturday 23rd June, 2007 8.30a.m. – 12.00a.m. at Edlesborough Memorial Hall.
